Oh it's insane alright. I remember watching IOM on a big screen at the Nelson RAT Raid. There were zoomed in shots of bikes breaching the crest of a hill with the front tire off the ground and in a super HIGH SPEED wobble. It is said that they have that throttle wide open for 80% of the race!!!
Makes me look like a tea toddler as I (in my mind) race through the mountain passes around these parts. You know what I think? I think all those guys drink tons of water prior to the race and have to pee like crazy!!! That's why they can ride so fast!!!
