Keith: Thanks for the welcome! I'm just glad I could contribute. I figured taking a few minutes to come up with that would save someone else hours when it comes time to do it. Plus, it's something someone could take to a machine shop now to have machined or CNC'ed.
FriarJohn: Wow! I'm glad I'm able to contribute! Now I feel a bit special! LoL

Alrighty... it's official! I just placed my order at Motorcycle Superstore for my K555 and K177's! They'll be here on Thursday and hopefully I can get them installed that day. Pictures are sure to follow by this weekend! Woo hoo!
As an added bonus, they just sent out a 10% off Dunlop coupon so I got like $30 off the purchase! Woo hoo again!

Alrighty... bike's at the shop gettin' the WWW's on. A K177 up front and a K555 in the back.
The guy came back out after seein' what's on there now (a Dunlop 100/90/18) and asked "Have you done your research on that front tire? You know that's a 120 right?". I chuckled and said "Yup! I've definitely done my research!"
I'll have the bike back tomorrow, pictures tomorrow, and seeing the twisties this weekend.
By the way.... we don't have any issues with clearance with the width of the tire right?

Louis, She's a beauty for sure! I just got my wheels with the Dunlop WWWs back from the shop today. I mounted em tonight, but still need to finish mounting the rear brake, align the rear tire/tighten the chain and do the front fender. Tomorrow is busy, but I hope to be done Sunday. I will post some pics then or next week, depending on when I get a chance to clean her up.

Keith,
I was just out taking a look at the bike for the trip to work tomorrow (first trip to work ever) and spent a bit of time paying attention to the tires.
The part of the original bracket that conforms to the fork, how close is that to your tire? (Edit: How close was that to your tire?)
If I'm not mistaken, the tire becomes thinner at speed right?

Hey Louis, I can't remember how close the bracket was to the tire but I never had a problem.
(I'm back to stock tire sizes on a set I got a smokin' deal on after I wore my WWW Dunlops out.)

Louis, I just put the WWW Dunlops on my bike and had my first ride tonight. On my bike it is quite close. I have about 1/8 inch clearance between the sidewall and that contoured piece. To put my mind at ease after your question, I did a little research on the effect of centrifugal force on a tire. A tire does get skinnier as it rotates faster. A good example is watching a dragster. When they start off, the tires start spinning and they get taller and skinnier. Higher air pressure in the tire decreases the effect. Carl

Digging up an old thread but have a question. Did the 16 gauge plates work out ok or would 1/4" plates be better. Need to know cause I had both in my hand at Lowes today.

Sorry for the late reply. I've been on a social hiatus. The 16 gauge has been holding up perfectly but you've probably already done the mod.

Thank you so much for putting the design up of the fender mod plate. I am having my friend, who does laser cutting for me make a couple of these plates for me to do the fender mod for a wider white wall tire.

Are there any www tires left out there for the front wheel of our bikes? From what I understand Dunlop stopped making them.

Keith, I just ordered a set of dunlop ww tires from Motorcycle superstore. And had them in 3 days with no shipping charge. Also ordered tubes and rim strip tape for both.

The rim strip on the rear tires is ridiculously wide, or at least the oem tape is. That is due to the spokes being spaced very wide on the rear rim. You will want to replace the rim strips as I betcha the rims are rusty and as such have compromised the integrity of the strips. You must replace them.
That said, before I ordered an inventory of oem rear rim strips, I would use one of the aftermarket rim strips on the rear wheel then put the compromised oem strip over that. Yes I was running with two rim strips on the rear wheel.
Just a heads up is all.
Also, you might ensure that the installer cleans your rim thoroughly. Ask that they spray the inside of the wheel well with some sort of metal protector before they install the rim strip(s).
