This looks like a good weekend. Bit of a bash at the Ace on the Saturday and then a ride out to Brighton on the Sunday.

Ace Reunion and Brighton Burn Up

See you there! Mind you, with 35,000 people attending the Brighton Burn Up we might miss each other in the crowd

Cracking day out! Did about 300 miles round trip. Weather held out just. I don't think i have ever seen so many bikes at a meet... lots of Triumphs new, old, standard, customised plus the usual mix of Hardlys. Took a few pics. Will post em shortly.

The ride in through Brighton itself was great fun. A constant stream of bikes thundering along past the que of bemused looking cagers ;-). However, the motorway/dual carriageway down to Brighton was a different story.... every bridge had a police speed camera van with fleets of intercept police cars and bikes on the on ramps. And they meant business too... i lost count of how many bikes i saw pulled over. It's very reassuring to know that the boys in blue are so concerned to educate us regarding the dangers of speed. Sadly though this blizzard of high viz law enforcement didn't spot the attrocious driving of the cagers on the same road. An ill advised lane switch by one dozy pillock put my life at risk and when i did pass and glanced over not so much as a wave, nod or sorry (just an embarressed sheepish look).

So here are the pics....

Complete with authentic oil drips underneath ;-)

Now when i was a lad this is the bike i used to lust over. 1000cc and six cylinders WOW. Looks sort of bland now though

Nice old timer

Nice one from a UK builder. Those guys from OCC certainly seem to have set a trend over this side of the pond

Fortunately though, some people go their own way

Thanks for posting the pics. You don't see too many Twenty-Ones ("bathtub" Triumph) around. Pretty nice for a bike thats over 50 years old now. They have one in the Barber Museum that looks exactly like it. The write up said it turned out to be an unpopular style (1958) and many were discarded or altered.

Nice pics Mark.... My old man used to have a T-Bird with a bath tub on many many years ago.. Hence probably why my brother and I like Triumphs....
