There are three separate players when it comes to keeping a bike on the road, legally, in PA (forgetting license/permit): 1) Insurance, 2) Registration, 3) Inspection. In PA your insurance carrier has the right to deny you coverage if your vehicle is out of inspection when it’s in an accident. That’s right! No medical, accidental death and dismemberment, hospitalization, collision, comprehensive, etc. This has been fought often in the courts and the insurance underwriters often win. So, why would you want to open yourself up to a lot of different litigation, from the parties involved in the claim and your/their insurance company?
Nohin’ says lovin’ like getting sued by your insurance carrier after the other carrier, in the claim against you, sues them for not insuring you (because you didn’t want to spend the thirty bucks on an inspection sticker)!
