Another good method are the small Scotch-Brite discs with an air grinder. These things really eat through tough paints like powdercoat and DuPont Imron, without too much effort. I try to stay away from the chemical strippers that hide in tight crevices. They tend to remove the new paint job too if you're not careful to remove every trace of them!
