Anyone ever take one of the above, through Penn Foster or Wyotech? Was it worth it? Any issues?

Unless one wants to tear their own bike apart during the course, one would also have to get a bike to work on.

Been thinking of taking one of the courses, just for my own benefit.

I thought BA.com was a MC maint/repair correspndense course.

Can't help you with your question, but good luck in your pursuits.

I'm not sure a Master of Ceremonies and Correspondence course will do anything for fixing your ride.

Yes, I took this course.... It gave me a better breadth of knowledge of our metal lovers.....It was organized better than my disorganized "do-it myself" way and overall it was good....It was fun,,,thought about the Vetinary Assistant course but the dog found out and have not seen him since ! I don't regret taking the course but it did not make me a mechanic.

I think courses like that may help with general knowledge, it's the hands-on that sometimes teaches the most. That's something that doesn't always translate well on correspondence courses.

You will get the basics of how things work and general workshop procedures and little else. Some of those courses cover a few specifics like dealing with the ball and grove shifters on Hodakas, timing HD crankcase breather valves or positioning early Triumph cam followers and other stuff that will gain you titles in trivia contests.
If you have no idea what goes on inside a motorcycle engine, you will learn some useful stuff that will help deciphering the service manual.
