Hi all, as promised here's the Memphis Shades Big Shot I put on my 05 speedie yesterday.
It took me a while cos I had to also take off my Clearview GT 17" with light grey tint which as I've already mentioned was a really good shield but I needed more height for a number of reasons.
FYI, the hardware of the MS big shot is very good quality and the kit even comes with the tools for installation which worked really well as they don't allow you to overtighten the screws.
I am extremely happy with my purchase for a number of reasone starting with the easy to follow instructions being clear and concise (no chinese gibberish here) making installation easy and enjoyable.
I haven't had the time yet to go for a ride to test how well she performs but I would be surprised if I didn't have a grin at the end.
In fact I'm going on a 3 day ride starting friday so I'll get back with my impressions then.
For those who are thinking between purchasing the clearview and a Memphis shades, personally and I could be biased, I do think the shades pips the post as far as all round usability primarily because it can be taken off easily with the disconnect hardware and to be perfectly honest I do prefer the cut of the shades shield. It's just a personal thing. Looks brilliant

The other factor to consider is that if you want to add a light bar, you might be in trouble with the Clearview as the shield's material (perspex or whatever) goes down more around the headlight (see pics) which of course is a good thing, but not if a light bar is in the equation.
If I'm wwwwwrong here, could someone please confirm so I'm not spreading misinformation (me misinformation

)
Mind you, you can cut these shields anyway and it's an easy enough procedure provided you follow the instructions to the letter. In fact I think there are some in the tech vault from memory. Otherwise google it. I know it's there.
Now finally in saying this, with more material around the headlight on the clearview I would expect it would block a little bit more headwind underneath the shield so this is a good thing going the way of the Clearview.
One last thing, I am 6' 1" which is why the big shot was almost made for me and taller riders. In fact you can raise the height of the big shot if you are taller than myself but this will widen the gap between the bottom of the screen and the headlight. This wider gap could be easilly fixed though with some sort of material and in fact, if anyone does have an idea of what they have used I wouldn't mind knowing myself. Just haven't had time to investigate.
So here's some pics for you all, starting with the Clearview and then moving on to the big shot.
Fyi, here's what the Summer Screen Hardware looks like off the bike,
And now the big Kohuna (sorry about spelling)
So that's the first impressions of my MS big shot.
I was able to increase the height by about 2 -3 inches so that I can still see where I'm going over the top of it but so that the airflow will now travel completely over my head

I hope this helps people decide which screen is good for them and in my case the big shot was more appropriate for my needs. If however I didn't have to buy a taller screen I probably would have kept the Clearview cos I'm not yet in the millionaires club.

PS: for all you "form over function, born to be wild easy rider dudes"

, here's a pic of my ride without the screen.
Just thought I'd throw it in to see for myself and to excite the

crowd who's ego needs nourishment by being looked at, cos I'm not such a moron as to realise our bikes definitely look better without em.

To each their own
