Not long got back.

To be honest the actual event was a bit of a let down and the organisation did leave a lot to be desired.

However the guys and gals of bonnevilleamerica .com were definetly on form this weekend.

It was, as usual a great laugh and good to catch up with you all and have a beer or six.

Heres some pictures

We had a few drinks on the Friday night back at the tent.

Steve (scuba-speed) and Paul (babrat) look on and wonder "is this how the Montgolfier brothers got their balloon to work?"

we all ended up in hospital the next morning

We were a bit hungover but didn't actually need this.

There were some very nice bikes on show on the Saturday

And some interesting cars in the museum

Having some light refreshments while waiting for the band.

Ray and Martin try to avoid eye contact with our new found Scottish friend who was in the middle of a kickass air guitar solo.

Having more light refreshments whilst still waiting for the band.

The band turned up eventually after snorting a couple of lines of multivitamins and werthers originals.

Saturday night fever got a hold on stretchermonkey!

Before you could say "John Travolta" more people decided to strut their stuff.

By the end of the night everyone was shaking their shoes - even Dave (Hedgehog)!

Anyhow, once again it was a real pleasure meeting up and having a laugh (and not needing waterproofs to do so this weekend!)

Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Hope every one gets back safe and sound.
The weekend would have been a complete waste of time and money if it hadn't been for "The gang".
As it was it was another stormin success. My head is now telling me that I had a great time.

Good to see you all again and looking forward to next time.

Graham, great picture of our Scottish friend with the "Air Guitar Teurets"
Cheers

Love it!!

If you are not happy with the organisation, tell them. Not sure who you'd tell, but how are they gonna know for next time. The Bristol Guys will have that conversation at the next meeting - believe me. (Though I did chat to someone from another branch and asked if anyone had actually asked anyone who'd organised a rally for advice.... the answer was they didn't think so.... )
However it was a good weekend after all... but the company helped!

On to Concorde....

What a weekend....

My new Irish friend (the bear) hair was on fire early this morning and he kept shouting "keep her lit boys" I think he was refering to our illegal camp fire not his hair!

The Bear is the distintive little champ with the white mane..the morning after the night before.

[image][/image]

Camp Green was well appointed with 2 (yes 2 toilets) and no showers but Terry was able to undertake his masonic duties note head gear and trouser leg routine.

[image][/image]

We had some wonderful food, award winning sausages, outstanding steak and Stinky Bishop cheese all prepared by our resident chef - The Gourment Viking

[image][/image]

with his lovely assistant Pam who is a legend in her own right!

and we all got along really well....

[image][/image]

say are they holding hands???

and Tezza tries to sneek off with a T'Bird...why would you want one of them HD rip off pieces of junk eh?!

Great to see you all again you made up for what was a pathetic attempt by the organizers - severe lack of refreshments and entertainment. So we just had to set fire to my little Irish friends hair - see what happens when you don't keep idle minds busy!

Remember "Keep her lit boys!"

The boys n girls from Bonnevilleamerica.com made the 50th Anniversary a great event.

TOMCC as far as I am concerned were just after bringing in the punters and taking your cash. The whole weekend was a shambles, cueing up for food for 2 1/2 hours not enough toilets, showers nowhere near where the campsite was.... The campsite for the bikers was around a mile away from the event with the CHAV's just over the field....

If this is how TOMCC want to remebered for the 50th Bonneville fine.... I will never rejoin the TOMCC and will never turn up for any of the events again.... Bunch of plonkers as far as I was concerned....

I just say thanks "Bonnevilleamerica.com" riders for making my weekend........

******************************************************
Nice to meet old friends and meet new friends, without a doubt this event would of been a waste of time without... the only good thing about this event was the bikes that turned up in the hundereds.

Thanks everyone... and I think everyone has my mobile number now..... "GRAHAM".............

Alright folks back in Glasgow after 6 hours of the worst rain ever. I see some of you met "Bo" the Scottish air guitar champion ...he rode down on his Ducati his entry for the excuse book was that his Bonny was broke....

I met up with Ray at the services and didnt see any body else for the rest of the weekend. Strange because when the Flames were on I was sitting right next to all of you ..

I have to agree the TOMCC really F*cked up I dont mind paying for stuff but £3-00 for beer was extracting the urine...food £8-00 for brekkie.....a captive market who were being robbed. Seating arangements, what the ****** did they think a few hundered folk were going to do...unlike some of the TOMCC heirarchy we do not own camper vans and trailer our bikes to shows....we didnt have the luxury of sitting inside....entertainment wise the Flames were ok but what the ****** happened during the day.....I am sorry but sitting listening to talks is not for me once I spent an hour looking at all the bikes an hour browsing the stalls ....I was lost ...This eevent promised so much and delivered nothing what should have been advert for the TOMCC only showed how out of touch the fogies who run the TOMCC have become. Personally once my membership runs out thats it for me no more. If you ride a Hinkley machine seems like the TOMCC have no interest. 14 stalls and none for modern Bonny parts ...I have been to smaller auto jumble sales with fewer people attending and a greater choice of stalls for gear parts and food....

So guys I will be at the Next Dent rally I think you have got it sussed ....you look as though you had a ball. Sorry I didnt catch up with you all.

And what happened to the HOG roast.....well only HOG that was nearly roasted was one of our guys AC/DC bike getting a little bent when he dropped it...I have too many complaints its begging to become boring so I better quit now...

Sorry we didn't catch up buddy! Met Bo from Motherwell he told me his excuse (story) re his Duke (we tickled his ribs over that) was gonna ask him if he knew you.

I am not in the TOMCC and if this is how they throw a 50th Celebration for a world famous bike they can shove it!! Chatted with French, Dutch and Irish visitors who had riden their bikes to be there. Whilst some muppets trailered their bikes less than 100 miles!!! And what's this campervan business all about??!! We were asked to leave the tables at 11.30 FFS! Security insisted we put out a camp fire - we didn't of course and wouldn't - no way no how!! KEEP HER LIT BOOOOOOOYS!

Still we had a cracking weekend (outstanding in fact) so no matter what the bonnevilleamerica.com gang will have a blast! The rain in Dent or the muppets at the TOMCC will not stand in our way!!!

Still Boyd's winner would have lifted your spirits a little Eric.

Im not going to defend the TOMCC, because I believe you are right - see my other post in this thread.

However both the people who have complain in this thread so far are members. You both have the right to complain. Either go to your Branch meeting and get a letter drawn up from the Branch (like we're going to) or get your Nacelle, open the front cover and there's a list of addresses. Martin Kirwin was the main organiser, or the Chairman.

However, after walking round on the Saturday, rumours were the prices were drawn up by the Motor Heritage Centre. The food people in camping area normal charged 80p for tea/coffee and were told how much to charge. So they didn't compete with their restaurant. It just meant people went off site. Own goal really. So yeah complain to the Club as the should have had discussions before the event over prices.

But seriously, complain to the Club directly. If you don't they'll think it was a complete success and anything they run in the future will follow the same plan. And people won't show.
(I sometimes think the national committee have their heads somewhere unmentionable.... this maybe proves it...)

But write or email them.

If anyone isn't a member and wants to write to the chairman or the main organiser, or both, then pm me and I'll send you their addresses.

And no, the Concorde Rally won't be run that way..... though we do seem to make it up as we go along....

How much I agree.

I don't want to knock but for £25 I expected a lot more from the organisers. I been to local club meets with more stands, traders, entertainments. Wouldn't it have been great to have a parade ring where you could swank about with your bike and show off a bit, or a bit of a show or demo or anything.

If anyone has visited the Bike safe event in Hendon you'll know what I mean, brilliant organisation, hundreds of stands under cover, giant TV screen, displays, demonstrations and cheap prices and free entry (No beer though. Them rozzers, eh!)

I can only say I was very disappointed in an event I had looked forward to so much.

Hi Ray,

Thank you for your comments, if I take them in turn

We did not expect over 1,500 people on the Friday we expected nearer 500 taking in to account the ticket sales. The other stalls did not expect to open – and were not prepared to pay the concession fee (to the Heritage Motor Centre) and so could not open.

The TOMCC continuously told the brewery that more beer than normal would be required – they thought they knew better – we told them again on Saturday, but they still ran out again and went back to the brewery for more. However I agree that £3.00 for a can was excessive, while £3.00 for a pint of real ale was fine by me – that’s pretty standard in my part of the country. As for bringing beer into the event – that is something you should take up with the Heritage Centre as we had no control over it.

The camping was set out on a first booked first served basis with half the internal campsite going to tents and half to caravans and motor homes.

I am sorry if you feel ripped off, perhaps you should have got involved in the planning stages and made your views count

It certainly doesn't look like something that comes from Tesco's.
