It finally happened. I was waiting all season and it happened at last... the traditional Brett Favre meltdown.

I'm not a fan of Favre's actions this year, but I probably wouldn't describe his performance yesterday as a "meltdown". He ****** near won the game for the Vikes, despite getting pummeled for most of the game. He passed for over 300 yards and set some additional playoff performance records yesterday.
But, no one is going to beat the Colts. As a Ravens fan, it pains me a lot to say that.....

I agree, for getting beat up the way he did I think he did a great job. 28-28 and overtime. Come on, it doesn't get much better then that. It was alot more exciting then the Jets/Colts game. Speaking of getting pummelled, where was his protection?

I was refering to his never ending ability to blow it at the end of a game. Yesterday, 2008 vs the Giants, 2003 vs the Eagles.... Given the choice to make the smart, safe play he always chooses the flashy, stupid play. After all, it's all about him.
4 wins in his last 11 playoff games speaks for itself.
Minnesota, you've been Favred.

I don't know why he didn't just run five yards or so and then go out of bounds... terrible idea to throw across the body to the middle of the field. 5-8 yards may have put them in field goal range with maybe a chance at winning.

Hey Knuckles - I'm glad to see we have such an expert quarterback on our Bonneville team but I'm wondering why you aren't out on the field playing the educated game that you tout instead of slouched behind your computer? And as for making the wrong play, give Favre a break!! After the beating he took throughout the game, for some reason I don't understand he was afraid to step away from his meager team protection and run 10 yards downfield then sacrifice his body to give his kicker a chance to make a long field goal!! I'm sure you would have done the right thing if only they put you on the squad.

Give the ole boy his dues, he is a warrior. Yes I'm over the whole I'm retiring routine but if anyone thinks Tarvaris Jackson, the Vikes other QB would have gotten them to the NFC championship game your nuts. Yes he blew it at the end of regulation but if he had a tailback that could hold the ball it would have been a different story. Hang on he might pull a George Blanda on ya and be a kicker till he's 50.

Exactly! But I was still disapointed, wanted to see Farve / Manning Super Bowl. I haven't seen any stats, I bet the Viks out played NO. You got to admit there have been no bad playoff games this year, hope it carries on into the big one.

I would have liked to see Favre/Manning also. Would have been a game for the ages, but Brees is by no means a slouch, that guy has mad game and is surrounded by a ton of talent. They are gonna give Indy more than any other team has in the past 2 seasons. Minnesota did not outplay New Orleans though, 5 turnovers is just disgusting and the main reason they lost the game. They could not hold onto the ball. Even one interception was really more of a catch fumble than a pick. You don't win like that, especially in a playoff game.
New Orleans has had to face two of the top offenses in the league with Arizona and Minnesota, and they got to the quarterbacks both games. A Lot. Indy better keep Peyton off his back if they want to have a chance.

No doubt any team that can force 6 turnovers from a quality team deserves to win, yardage stats or not. Super Bowl should be a good game.

Can't argue that. I heard an interesting stat today about Favre: - His first four passes with the Packers/Jets/Vikings went for a 7 yard gain. - His last past with each of those teams was an interception. Quote:
