Not true. Marino retired at 38. Brett will be 40 in October.

Also according to NFL.com, Favre is 2" shorter and 6lbs. lighter than Marino but that doesn't even matter. Just consider how fast Favre fell apart the last five games of last season. He said himself after his most recent retirement that is probably a good thing that he is not playing this year because he doesn't think his body would make it to the end of the season.
