I've just gotten my bike back from the insurance company after my wreck. My ignition key has mysteriously disappeared. I recall that there is an alternative key blank that will fit our switches, but cannot find the reference to it. I think it may have been a Volvo? Can somebody produce that info?

The Volvo blank is for the steering lock...

this site has a good selection: http://www.motorcyclekeys.com/blanks5.html

I stopped at Arrow Locksmiths during lunch break one day. A stock, late model Kawasaki blank fit my 05 BA PERFECTLY!!!, and was $1.50, and $1.50 to cut. No ordering, no B.S.

I don't have the original as a pattern, nor do i have the numbers off the tag that came with it. How difficult will it be for a locksmith to decipher the ignition switch and cut a new key? I don't suppose there's a way for the dealer to give me the info like a car dealer can sometimes do via the VIN#?

You mean you can't buy factory blanks from the Triumph dealer?
What's up wit DAT?

Any locksmith should be able to make a key for you without the original.

Yeah, you can buy them. Mine cost $13 each and had to be ordered. Then I had to take them to a key shop and pay a couple more bucks to be cut.

Thats DIRT CHEAP compaired to what I was told! My dealer was charging $56.00 for two blanks (one ignition, one fork lock), ordered from Triumph! Then I would have to take them to a locksmith to be cut!
Thats when I went to Arrow, and got a Kawasaki blank for the ignition, and a Moped Blank for the forklock. Both blanks, cut, for under $7.00.
