As you may have noticed - Ray has - I've been very quiet over this.

Work, as normal, can and will stuff things up where appropriate, as this should have been on my long weekend, the timetable change in May now the Saturday has a 10 hour Saturday. Grrrrrr....

I've booked the Saturday as leave, but I have no guarantee at the mo.

There's also my back. I'm not happy with how it feels and don't know that a long ride that far would be good for it. It's really not good in the morning at the mo, taking me about an hour to ease it out of bed some mornings. Once I've taken something for the pain and had a coffee, eased it back into life it's ok, just getting to that point is not good.

I do have a back up plan, and a very nice camping bed. Now I know at least one car is going....I have train times for there and back and while work can get in the way, it also means I can get the train there for the price of a tank of petrol! (Remember the 09 tank is bigger... )And back for another tank... It's gonna take around 6 1/2 hours by train but at least I can walk around, stretch etc. So if I get the day off, me and Jahel can stand, sit etc together!

It's a watch this space at the mo. If I wake up on the Friday and it's ok, I'll ride. If not, then Bristol Temples Meads, here I come.

I'll let you know - I'll know by next Tuesday pm where I'm off.

Gina as you rightly pointed out 1 car will be going.
So if need be, just tell me where to be and when......... and your chauffeur shall await you!

p.s. But you have got no chance of me wearing a silly hat!!!!!

Well Ray slight change of plan for me...

meeting on A1 Wetherby Services at 4pm on Friday with my good buddy Steve (an Ullapool veteran - man that was a cold one) then on to meet the dynamic duo Steve and Pam in Hawes at 5.30 - 6ish for fish n chips (they are very good - no skin on the haddock - vitally important) then off to the George and Dragon. Staying there for the night, not camping this year now (Steve heard it was a brewery and that sold him on the deal "I've always wanted to sleep off a hangover in a brewery").
Staying for the rideout setting back around 3ish. Have some mates joining us (and staying over and the George on Saturday). Ian on his WHITE 07 TBA (looks the mutts apparently) and Andy on his silver and black T'Bird (seen that and it is the mutts).
Be bringing along a bottle of Bushmills to share as a warm up for a Friday night special.
Looking forward to it and thanks for your considerable efforts Ray!

well, due to circumstances beyond my control I shall be leaving Milton Keynes about 6pm on the Friday, so hopefully I've arrive at a complete guess of 9ish, but that is dependant on how lost I get, although it looks pretty easy to find from the M6

I'm kind of hoping I can jinx in a good way. If I don't ride up I'm hoping I can moan the whole weekend that it wish I'd ridden up as it's the first year of Dent with no rain!!!! If you know what I mean....

And Paul... I'm sure I could get an old Railway hat and make it look like a chauffeur's....

Sorry about the bad language but you mite understand why!!
So much for my earlier post of a slight weep from the top end of a America. Ha! yea rite.
My Bike still off the road.....
From a mechanic telling me Triumph bikes dont leak go away and clean the oil off cos it must have been spilled when serviced!!To um err its a cylinder head replacement, aaaaand cos its out of warranty its an expensive job ££££. Oh and the main Triumph guy is on holiday till next Monday I only sell Suzi's. Cant help!
Triumph in Carlisle thanks! Thats after taking it over last Tuesday. I had to ring them to ask wotthehell was going on!
been back twice to get that news. 3k on the clock pampered toy only out in fine weather sorry chaps Im not impressed. I have had old J*P bangers with zillions on the clock thrashed to death and never a cycl head replaced Time to get rid??
Come on convince me otherwise.
I have had to go to Triumph direct and have a real ****** and threaten to get them to at least think about helping me out the warranty ran out end of April! The fine print says you have to get any servicing work at a Triumph dealer?? Eh
thought that law went out ages ago, it doesnt apply to cars!! anyone else had similar dealings??? They asked for photo proof from the dealer EH?? And as the dealer did not respond binned the request! Rang dealer who said thats wot the always do blame the dealer.....so balls in whose court?hang on a min is their a recession on? are you not supposed to look after the customer?? jobs, money, good will etc,etc....or am i a bit naive?
So knackered for Dent unless I can take me car.......fecks sake. I even bought the bldy t Shirts!
very pssd off

Come by car anyway - I'm looking at going by train after all!

If you come you'll see that most of us have bikes that we don't have a problem with. I've have a bike that has technically been written off. The crash was nasty...but it's fine.
There's a law that things have to be fit for purpose for 6 years. I can't remember what it's called, but google it and you'll find it I'm sure. Contact Consumer Direct and explain to them - 3000 miles isn't enough miles for the first year service...

Hope to see you there - even if it is by car!

And language....what language - it's a biker forum!

Unusual that it is merely light rain forecast...was hoping for something a little more interesting.

One thing for sure - it wont be a dry night

I won't be there...

Work being $hit. Back being crap, not sure a tent in damp weather would have the greatest idea either.

Sorry guys. Have a great weekend...

Hope it doesn't rain much and have a beer for me.

I am sorry I cannot be there this weekend for the annual Triumph drench meet. I will be thinking about you all cruisin' and drinkin' and stuff, from the deserts of Afghanistan. Not a drop of Beer here (No 'Dog' or 'wifebeater' to quench a mans thirst) Ask bluenose!!

Oh, and the Odds of getting rain here are about the same as getting a dry Dent weekend!!
Gotta get out of this middday sunshine...52 degs C is no good for any Englishman. Even a Northern Bloork !!

Post some piccys so I can imagine I was there with you.

Thanks again for the Tee Shirt Ray. See some of you guys at the Triumph Bash in September

All the best

Paul

Hey Paul, thanks for thinking about us all getting drenched, I am sure you would rather be here "drinking and having fun and talking Triumph motorcycles to the early doors", we will be thinking about you once the beer flows NOT!!!

Take it easy out there and we'll catch up at the Hinckley bash

Oh and I'll have a few for ya mate

But we wouldn't have missed it for all the tea in China We are looking forward to Dent very much, I've heard the MUD is very glutinous at this time of year We look forward to seeing you all in the wind swept, rain soaked Yorkshire Dales and here's to a good un.
