Apparently this guy built the bike from scratch using only NOS parts! More info: 1966 Bonnie

Beautiful bike. Prime years the '66 through '70.
However, I never cared much for two-toned seat on the '66s.
But the white tank with the orange stripe down the middle of the tank on that year's bike? COOL!
Cheers, Dwight
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

It is absolutely gorgeous!!!
The guy who owned it disturbed me with this:
I acquired this unique piece of rolling sculpture through an art trade and I am in love with it...but because it is what it is, it really shouldn't be ridden...in fact it would be a certain kind of sin to ride it (yet a certain kind of wonderfulness, of course) because then it would instantly become just another "mint" Bonnie--one hell of an example, to be sure--but it would no longer be unique
(my emphasis above) I guess I could never own a bike like this. To me, it's not art. It's a friggin motorcycle and meant to be ridden for cripes sake! I can just imagine all the purists (anal) going "Oh no! He's going to RIDE IT!!!"
Hell yeah I would!!!

What really gets me is, he will cherish it till the day he dies, polishing it etc. Then his son/daughter will come along put a gallon of gas in the tank and blast off down the road!!!

If you want something to "cherish", get an old F head HD. Triumphs were created for riding.

It sure is a beauty! But...
I'd have to agree with the owner on this one...There are plenty of other bikes to have and ride, but this one is unique among all other triumphs. Kind of like having a mint condition baseball card of the Babe, and then running it in the spokes of your bike...now it's just another card.
Tom
But, what do I know?
