They will most likely be too stiff if they were made for an HD.
I went through this on Karens bike. Got a great deal on a aset of 412s...wound up calling Progressive and the tech said it would feel like I had no suspension cause the shocks were for an FX?????. that bike was heavier so the spring rate was much stiffer.
