I know the commercial ones are down below $100. They are usually a single digit LED jobbies like the one below. I could probably reproduce mine for $20 in parts but it's just not suitable for wide distribution. If anyone with some fabrication skills wants to get involved with the display (for example the LED strip or a waterproof LCD) I'd be happy to trade off a computer module for it - the risk to your igniter is all yours!
