Thought I'd start a thread where to post when home from the Euro Rally. Myself and Anki got home safe about half an hour ago. Thanks to all participants. Outstanding to meet you all (as always). A special thanks to Beata and Pawel for organizing this fantastic event. Everything was so carefully planned and turned out to be something to remember for life. The Polish crew should be mentioned too for taking care of our safety on the ride-outs in an extremely professional manner. Thank you as well. Already looking forward to next year. I believe Nick will tell everyone about it in due time...

In usual stretchermonkey fashion I got back home but with a little detour on the way. Dave and I got split up before Antwerp in the traffic and for once I was right and took the turn to Antwerp. I did text and we agreed to meet up after the first services past Gent. However I opted for the wrong motorway and had a little look around Lille heading towards Paris before I saw a sign for Dunkirk and Calais. Anyhow after a quick resetting of my sat nav (by hitting my head against a tree) I got sorted. I would like to take the opportunity of thanking Pawel and Beata for organising a fantastic Euro rally and look forward to attending next year and catching up with some of the great folks I met this year. Oh and a top tip for travelling in Europe next year - look at a map of the continental road layout before you actually get on the bike. The only way I figured out where I was going was by remembering the German advance on Dunkirk from stuff I had watched on the discovery channel.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Finally got home today (Saturday) at 8pm.
As everyone has already said, a big THANK YOU to Pawel & Family ( and the other Polish folks) for putting on an excellent rally!!
I am sure that other threads will cover the various goings on, but it's nice to back home after 11 days on the road.

Hi all, got back just after 9 o'clock Saturday evening, tho by the time got luggage unpacked and had something to eat was too tired to get online. So now bright eyed and bushy tailed, I would like to send out a big thanks to Pawel and Beata for organising a great Euro rally this year, and hope to meet up again for next years. It was good to see old friends and make new ones, what an enjoyable and unforgetable time we had. And too Shaun, my riding companion for the last week, we did what we set out to do, good times man. Over 5000 kilometers done since we left home, so not bad for a weekend jaunt.

5000km?? - According to my Speedo, I did 2984 miles on the trip which equals 4777km ( even with my detour back into Prague to collect my wallet)
Did you get lost again or something after we split?? Just remembered, it was the weekend so no doubt you went via a few B&Q's to see if you needed to update your spanner collection!!
Anyway, good times indeed, looking forward to the next one already.

It was just over 5000km, and yes I did make a detour, went up the wrong road getting out of Dover and had to turn back, the accuracy of Sat Navs. Got bored with MWay, and took some back roads, but no B&Q's this time, think my spanner collection will have to wait for a new addition.

I do not remember you wearing that at the rally!!!
Is that a traditional Polish boatmans outfit that you wore when on holiday with your fictional wife??
