I just want to powder coat the lower forks.
Do I have to completely disassemble them or can I just take in the fork lowers with the uppers still attached?

I would try to do it without disassembling, what did your powdercoater say? Or are you going to do it yourself?
After some thought, maybe the seals wouldn't take kindly to the baking process.

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

I did mine with satin black epoxy enamel and they're still good after three years

Disassemble for powder coating. It's not that tough.

Neither am I. I've read the manual and it doesn't seem like something I'd try. I will probably try the Epoxy Paint route. Thanks for the responses.

If you powdercoat them disassemble, and clean and degrease them inside and out. Fork oil has a flash point around 350 F. Powder coat is cured at around 390F

Powder coating ovens get up 450*. Any rubber or non metalic parts will be trash when there done and they would run into the finish destroying your powdercoating. The answer is yes, take them compleatly apart.

Any powder-coater worth their salt will tell you to remove any rubber or plastic parts.
