+1 on the mess everywhere. I'm tinkering on my cover so I've been riding without and my chain has been flinging oil on the engine with out adding oil yet. The clear and webbed cover don't seem to have a "shield" running from bolt to bolt. I guess it they would still sling oil onto the engine. A thin ribbon of stainless tack welded to each tube at the bolts may solve that problem? I"ll post some pics of my idea along with my new fender rack soon...
