I have rebuilt a 2008 America. Was a crashed bike and putting my own twist as I bring it back from its almost fate. I am 6'1" with a 35" inseam and this bike was just never big enough. Well now it is ! I have done many little mods trying to keep this old school and looking like and old bike best I can. But now it time to paint it and I don't want to mess up now. I have the factory wheels and was thinking about WW tires. I had a custom seat made in brown leather from I guy in Denver. I was thinking on the same color as my hummer which is boulder grey with the bits of chrome, WW tires, and that color,Leather seat any thoughts?....... I promise I will post the completed bike so all can see but just need some input here.
If it isn't broke ...break it ! then you'll have something to do !

What it should be is maybe a bronze tone and dark grey it may look cool but two tone may look interesting or not.... Just a thought.... some of the parts on my bike are black instead of chrome it make it a little easier to clean and it gives it a whole different look the insides of the wheels are also black I hated cleaning spoke wheels on my other bike it was a chore...Put a few options on the table and ask for other opinions sometimes people have really good ideas!!!!

Because you mention that you are looking to keep it old school, here are a couple of sites that might provide some thoughts or ideas. Triumph Paint Schemes Old Ads, Brochures, Pictures I used the first link to come up with the paint scheme when I had my '03 repainted. I went with the 1965 scheme because I thought it looked great with the tank badge I had chosen and it matched up with the look I was trying to achieve. Here is the result so far...it's a never ending process. A little difficult to see, but the front fender does have the racing stripe per the 1965 scheme. If nothing else maybe these sites can provide a little nudge in one direction or another. Enjoy the process and let's see the progress. Steven

I always like the color of this bike...it looks more bronzy in the pic but I'd like it a bit more metallic satin grey

Very nice overall effect. Your bike always makes my short list of desirable modification directions.

Thank you all for the very nice comments...I guess I need to take some new photos. Since the time of the earlier photo, I have removed the lightbar, gone back to stock footpegs, and put the Stebel airhorn up under the tank (kind of...).
My next steps will be focused on the rear fender (I haven't decided yet what to do) and I would love to do something different with the console...maybe black, maybe remove all together, hmmmmm.
Of my two Triumphs, the '03 America is still my favorite especially since I can now tinker with it more. The other bike is a Rocket 3 Touring...great bike, but a different kind of fun.
Cheers all, Steven

I've got that picture of your bike as a background on my home and work computer. I'm going for that look with my America!
