I run the 16 and like it. Just ordered up a new kit From Hermy with the 16 tooth. Forgot to ask him about a clip style link though.

I still run the 16. The 16 tooth and the big bore make big grins...

16 tooth is the way to roll. The Speedmaster rev limiter is set at 7900 rpm. You don't get into the power until around 4000 rpm. The best way to use a high revving engine is with lower gears. At 80mph indicated I'm at 5,000rpm and run it all day.36,000 miles so far and when it's time for a new sprocket, it'll be a 16 tooth . Might even go for a 43 rear too If you don't want your 16, can I have it?

I just put the 16 tooth back on after 2 years of the 18 tooth. I had forgotten how much fun it is to have 1st gear!

I had a 16 tooth until I replaced chain and sprockets earlier this summer. I put a 17 tooth front on, and really didn't like it at first. I've gotten used to it now, but I'll be going back to the 16 when it's time to replace.

18 tooth is stock. I know because I have an 07 TBA and have been waiting for my 19 tooth sprocket to arrive. I'm sure it's the same on the speedy.

I run the 16T. I like the low speed pull. It will cruise 100mph as long as your license will last, so it works for me.
