Apparantly the Duke in that test had a problem with a restrictive intake that they didn't notice until after the testing was complete. Wonder how it would have faired it this would have been corrected.
Also, note the horsepower profiles. Those were 750s putting out very similar numbers to our current bikes. And the compression ratios weren't that high also.
