When I was a kid, every new bicycle came with those stoopid colored tassles/streamers stuck into the ends of the handlebar grips. They looked "sissy" to us boys, and the first thing we'd do once we were out of our parents' eyesight was to pull the things out and throw them away. The SECOND thing we'd do would be to raid our parents' pinnocle deck (Does anyone even play that anymore???) and stick a card or two into the spokes using a clothes pin (Does anyone remember those???) on the forks to make "motorcycle sounds." The card wouldn't last very long, but you just couldn't beat the "brapbapbapbap" sound as we sped down the block on our one speed Schwinn/Murray/Huffy bikes with coaster brakes. It was the old school bicycle equivelent of hanging Epcos pipes. Then we'd all duck and hide when Pinnocle night came around, and my dad would holler, "Which one of you little (devils) has been in the cards!?!?!?!"

Ah, memories.

My opinion hasn't changed regarding "tassles." Sissy crap if ya ask me...
