One word of caution: I've HEARD from others that throw over bags will scuff/dull the paint on your fender.
If your bags are too soft at the mounting surface because they are throw-over, add some extra support to the bracket using a larger plate and bolt it to the bracket. There's a thread where someone(I forget who) did that with their brackets
