Anyone had any experience converting their turn signals to also function as brake and run lights? If so what did you use?

The Kisan Signalminder is good for running lights and turn signal cancellation , but it's not wired (yet) for the extra brake lights . It could be done with dual filament bulbs (1157). If ya go with running lights keep in mind your rears are gonna be yellow . Easy fix to go red . See the Photobucket pics .

+1 did the conversion a month ago with the Rivco lightbar, Tzukayu saddlebags and JP cycles red LED signals. big $$ but I like the looks. Works like a charm and grabs any cager's attention without a doubt.

I installed the same kit as Chy on my bike last year and I like it a lot. Much better than just the rear signal and you don't need to replace the lenses. After riding behind a few folks at previous rallies and seeing how dim our lights can be sometimes, I figured I'd do something to make myself a little more visible at night.

Thanks for all the input. I guess what I'm looking for is just the wiring, I have a set of turn signals off of a v-rod installed and would prefer to keep them. Think this kit would work with them? At this point I can't see why not. The plan is to only run the turn signals for everything, no third conventional tail light.

weeeelllllll what happened was...... I was on my way from Pennsylvania to Virginia (about a 7 1/2 hour trip) when about midway through it, just before dark, I noticed that I no longer had a license plate or tail light. In it's spot were a couple of haggard looking wires. A local was kind enough to lead me to the nearest advance auto where I proceeded to rig two trailer marker lights as a run and brake light. Plus I think just using the turn signals will give the bike a slimmer look from the rear.

I like the look of just the turn signals and chop of the lower fender. This kit is going on my wish list.

Then you want this... run turn brake controler 4710 and dont forget to get red bulbs for it.

The new model Kisan signal minders have the run/turn/brake signals built in. Also does cool stuff like escort flashing (NO! Not that kind) where the signals wig wag from side to side, as well as four way emergency flashing.

Hay a thought would you guys suggest clear lenses and amber bulbs with this kit to make the two different colors stand out better.

The Electrical Connection kit is specific to the type of turnsignal bulb that you have. I have stock rear signals, and love the extra presence with the kit. The LED ring does fill the stock signal housing, and wouldn't fit into a smaller turnsignal housing.

The only issue that I have had wiring in the turn signals with the Kissan Unit is that the front turn signals flash with the brake as well. Anyone else having this issue?

Just do a search on "red lenses" , etc . and you'll get educated . There's a guy on eBay that sells red lenses for about 20.00 . He also has clear ones . They're a Landrover part . I have some pics of mine below .

Just an FYI i order a kit from electric connections 2 months ago and still have not received it. I just told them to cancel it. They told me they were having trouble getting parts to make the kits so beware. I will be ordering a kuryakyn kit soon and going with a diffrent look.

Yes Professor, that is how it works on my bike too, but I figure any extra attention -getting is good at either end, especially when you are braking for a left turn!
