Brent, do you have or have plans for a chrome lower yoke or yoke cover. Saw the cover on the triumph site. Beats the heck out of the lower yoke on my TBA. Or does anyone have any suggestions. Thought of polishing it but...

Just so you know, the lower yolk/clamp/tree is cast steel. It will polish but needs to be protected to preclude rusting, which explains the factory finish. I had one of mine chromed, the other clear coat painted.

We don't have any plans for that. Chris' idea is probably the best. Just have the stock piece polished and plated. It'd probably be cheaper than a cover...

I did order the Triumph yoke cover as i am chroming the lower forks and getting the front end looking a bit better. The lower yoke on the TBA 02 is real ugly from factory, lots of marks and scratches... they did change that on the 2003 model.
I think fixing the 2002 lower yoke would be a lot of work so i am going for that cover, a bit pricy but then again all of Triumphs original accessories are.

Hey Johann, Have you recieved it yet? I am going to remove the fork covers as I am installing gaiters. Wondering if the cover holes fit nicely around the forks or would they look bad without the covers? Hey Boogieman how much work was the polishing that yoke? You removed it right? Thanks Yall

You dont have to chrome the lower forks, just paint strip the powder coat, then you will find the factory machine markings that the powder coat covered up. Wet sand with 600/800 and up, then bench polish with 8" buffing wheel, over and over and will end up looking as good as chrome without the upkeep of chrome, just use Blue Magic or Semichrome once in awhile to keep shine up, visit the Customs Gallery, under my name GUSSER to see mine

Yep I did completely disassemble the front for polishing. Had both trees and the lower fork legs done. We painted the modified upper covers black. looks very sharp, the polished/black contrast. The lower tree was $60, including the paint stripping and polishing to within an inch of it's life. This piece came out nice. I wanted to go chrome but roper decided on polishing instead. We finished it off with a couple coats of clear to preclude rust.

No, i am in no hurry yet, the lower forks are still at the polisher and then they are going to the chromefactory so hopefully it all will be done in a month or so.
