I wonder how much the timing is retarded with the TPS hooked up but not physically connected to the carb? You would gain in terms of retarded timing but what about the top end? As you said, it doesn't appear to hurt output but... Did premium gas help with the knocking in any way with the TPS fully hooked up?




I would normally use premium gas anyway, I ride a lot to a variety of places, and I cannot always get the same grade of premium gas. The bike seems to run best on 93 octane E-10.

THe higher octane gas did help with the knocking, but as I mentioned it is not consistantly available. Perhaps Pieman could weigh in on the mapping.
