As for who has given what.. to date, GM has received some $20 billion in money from the US government. Only around $6 billion has been given by the current administration. Dubba got the ball rolling back in December when he gave GM some $14 billion so they would survive long enough to make it Obamas problem.

Since then, money has been pledged as available if required but has not yet been given out (Obama has pledged up to $30 billion, and the Canadian government has pledged $9.5 billion). Some would have you believe that the current administration has handed over $50 billion to GM, which is not only incorrect, but the majority of what has been handed over was done under the previous administration.
