One of my coworkers just brought his brother's new Rocker C by the office. WOW. What a sweet looking ride in person. I didn't get to ride it (I don't know the brother and didn't want to risk it) but I got to sit on it and rev it up. I fear that if I did get to ride it I'd be at the Harley Dealership right now talking trade in. All I could hope for is that I'd try a Thunderbird first and fall in greater love with that. It's definitely the only stock Harley I've seen so far that I'd want to own.

Nothing wrong with the looks of some of them Harleys. Looking forward to test riding one someday. I can fall in love waaaaaaay to easily so for now I gotta stay away from dealerships.

I rode a Rocker soon after they were released. Fun ride, good for bike night, but that's about it. Give me a SoftTail Deluxe or a Road Glide. Note I said "give".

Smooth....but lack horse power... I rode a demo recently while we were searching for a tourer. We bought a Goldwing (GL1500) instead...smooth and goes when you twist the throttle...

I've seen'um and they look alright till you get to the seat. and what happened to the rear mudguard / fender. it doesn't look like it belongs on that bike. I'm not even going to mention the pillion......yes I will, it folds out from under the main seat and sits a mile high off the rear fender. Generaly I like Hd's, but the first time I saw one of those in person, I started laughing uncontrolably. I thought they named it because the designer was off his ROCKER

The Rocker is OK, but I'd much rather have a Cross Bones.

I also prefer the x-bones but see where you are coming from FJ. Quote:

750 GSXR would be good for you. We were talking about cruisers. V-rod, X-bones, Rocker, all lean as well and as far as our bikes.

There have been threads before about what are the top 5 bikes you want in your garage. Even then a couple years ago, the Rocker C was #5 on my list after my TBA, a Mad-Max style Triumph Scrambler, a Rocket III with all the Corbin touring bits, and a custom Triumph twin Chopper.
I suppose the Thunderbird might replace the Rocket III in that list.

I always knew you had good taste in motorcycles, Shari! The XR1200 is my new favorite Harley too!
(and no...I ain't droppin' one off for ya, EVEN WITH that good taste o' yours there...sorry!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Then you would love the Rocker, it has a larger lean angle than your bike.

One detail I noticed was on the pegs. There's some sort of fancy little metal peg sticking out of the end of the pegs underneath. It's obviously sacrificial, so you won't actually drag the peg on the ground. Now on the Triumph Floorboards, for example, it's a cheapo coupling nut available at any hardware store. Easily replaceable. But this Harley bit was definitely unique to these pegs and probably cost $20 apiece to replace. Typical HD.

You forgot to mention that the oil tank looks like it was made of plastic.

after you look at the spec sheets on any harley and compare them to our bikes,it's reaaly hard for me to really want a harley.sure some of them look cool, but not cool enough to justify twice the price for something 150lbs heavier with the same performance numbers out of an engine twice the size of ours,i would just feel a little cheated

Maybe. My 1340cc '95 HD only has 60 hp stock but it has double the torque of my BA...anyone who has ridden that much torque can testify that HP is just a number, torque is where your real power is. That said, the BA is still my preferred ride over any sort of distance.

not to be argumentative about the lean angle, Satxron, but i find that really hard to believe. havin ridden a Night Rod and a Softail Deluxe, I can admit they make a decent motor... 'specially with Porsches help... but having scraped peg (or floorboard) on both, I will not believe they cn build a bike that handles like a bike... even for the extra $5k cover charge. MAYBE my brother in laws T-Sport, but I hear they dont make her anymore. Definitely not a softail thats made to look like a chop.

Nothing wrong with enjoying both Triumph and Harley
My ideal garage would include (of models currently offered)... Triumphs: Bonnie Black, Scrambler, Bonneville America. Harleys: Nightster, SuperGlide Sport, Road King.
Of course on Sundays I would have to alternate between a Norton and an Indian.

On the other hand, the Street Glide rocks! Typically nonexistent HD lean angle though.

You're obviously are the brains of the outfit!
Nice bikes - like the R3 very much.
As for the Rocker C - best HD for me however not as good as a T'bird

A couple weeks ago I really tried to like a rIII, enough to put the money out on one that is. Just couldn't do it. I ended up buying a road king instead. A thousand miles later, I'm loving that decision. It does exactly what I need it to. So now I ride the speedy all week and the rk on the weekends, and Andy's in his happy place.
