So, you lift the bike, take the wheel off, take the ? shrouds off that are attached to the triple trees and just slide them up from the end of the forks ? Is this the procedure? I have not purchased these yet..

When I installed mine, I just lifted the bike up and loosened the triple trees and slid them out. I didn't take the front wheen off, it was much easier than expected.

If you have help, it is much easier to leave the wheel on. Make sure you heat the gaiters in hot soapy water before you install. It softens the rubber and makes it easier to put on.

Tatkin, the srouds won't come off over the lower end of the forks, gotta slide the forks down and slide the shrouds up and over.

I have a dented lower shroud, I REALLY tried to get them off while I had my front wheel off anyway last year, no go...

If you're dumb like me, the first time you start taking parts off the front end...like the wheel...make sure you strap the bike to the jack. If you don't, the bike might want to tip backwards off the jack. Yeah, I did that the first time I took the front wheel off. Luckily I grabbed the bike and yelled to my wife who was inside the house. She didn't even laugh too much when she saw the predicament I was in.

Yeah I've been there too, caught it as it started to lift tho, so no biggie. I just blocked up the rear tire after that. Jack the bike WAY up, then set it down on a block of wood in the back, still high enough to keep the front up.

I ordered me some of these ... From what I have seen it does take the bike to a yesteryear look ... $39 including shipping, cheap. Hope the labor goes ? cheap also ... If the bike is laying all over the garage it may be pricy ... Nah ...
