Now for the verdict:

Build Quality 10/10
It quality, paint, chrome, detail instruments the lot!

Brakes 8/10
Brilliant – ABS is apparently fantastic however only tested standard

Engine 10/10
Out of this world!

Handling 10/10
Put many sports bikes to shame – the best handling cruiser on the planet!

Comfort 7/10
At 6’2’ a little cramped but as good as the tba (I am yet to find a bike that fits me like a glove)

Looks 7/10
It needed something on the front – a fly screen and some spots. There are many accessories to fully loaded it would improve the rating somewhat.

Sound 7/10
Not as good as the short TORS on the tba in my opinion but aftermarket will take care of that minor problem.

Overall Verdict:

The Thunderbird is definitely FAB! It is a winner! I Hardly rider I was speaking to announced he was switching to Triumph – it has started!

Now here is the funny thing – I love my tba (so much so that my missus might have to give up her side of the bed). It has provenance, it is British and American joined at the hip and I like it very much. Am I going to buy one, maybe, probably, I don’t know! I am normally the most impulsive decisive person I know but for once I can’t make up my mind.
