Sure glad your boy is OK. Nothing worse than to hurt a passenger, especially your own kin. So, you tested out a guard rail. Maybe the state can reimburse you for that testing, call it a "consulting fee". And how DID that guard rail perform? If I ride down there I'm gonna wanna know if they are adequete or not!
