For $300 - 500 less, you can get a Triumph that easily goes twice as fast, 4 times as far between "charges" and it only takes 1/60 as long to get it back to full "charge". BUT, you can't get a Triumph at Best Buy.

Ya know that ain't a bad concept. I wouldn't ride it to bike night but I do believe it has potencial.

I'm envisioning more electric vehicles in the near future.
And a kilowatt of electricity will be $400.00

If they sell them successfully, maybe in a matter of a few years they would actually be affordable for the masses.

But as far as it's being "green":
50% of all US electricity is from coal-fired plants.
So it's 50% COAL POWERED!
Of course if you have your own Wind Turbine...

I once read a scifi book written around 1900 that had everyone riding around on electric rollerskates. There were high frequency power lines running along metal paved streets and people had a hatpin sized antenna in their hats to pick up power radiating from the power lines and feed it to the skates.

Funny thing is there are electric skates out there. Not powered the way described though. Funny how sci-fi becomes reality. (powered skateboards and scooters too)

The Harley Hummer was my first bike at around age 13. It smoked...literally!
It was fun, but i was glad to finally get a Honda a couple years later.

Wow... that's pretty cool. You're the first person I've 'met' that can say that.

I don't know about louder pipes but you could put a card in the spokes.
