That's a very cool paint job! Should look really good installed.

I like the skull on the front fender. Pretty cool. Did you do the paint or did someone else paint it?

Local guy in birmingham did it, and very cheaply considering he did the tank stripping, welding, fitted the cap and the paint job (also on the airdam and side bit).
it's motopaint in birmingham (uk) and i can certainly recommend him.
the skull was a very last minute whim that he suggested and i thought "why not?"

Anthony...looks good! Do you have a side view of the tank?
So...any issues filling up? I also have a tank that I (had it done) shaved and centered the fuel bung. One concern after it was done was filling up. I still havent had the tank finihsed so its never even been mounted.

Don't have a side one yet. I'm waiting for some Tank Sealer to come through the post as the guy recommended that i put a bit in and hold it upside down (just to coat the area that's been welded).
In terms of filling it from the pump there looks like there's plenty of room (which i origionally doubted as it looked like taking the cap area off would leave very little 'drop' for the fuel) but only time will tell.
what was your main concern in terms of filling up mate?
I'll take another pic once i've got it properly fitted to the bike though.

tell me about it, absolutely gutted once i got my date through! not that i was aiming to get it all ready for then or anything (competative streak kicks in )
Still, i've needed the op on my shoulder for a while and i better grab it before the NHS get distracted.
blacking out the forks and headlight shells is next on the list can work on that while my arm heals.
don't know about the red x's though - that being said, i still struggle with adding pictures!

Embedded picture file urls still need to end in .jpg to work: Nice Punisher theme above.

Finally got the headlights sorted (building as small leather tool roll that will fit just behind them and contain all the electrics). Still need to sort out some kind of venting for the tank and the next job is to black out the forks.

The headlights look awesome and blacking out those forks will look really sweeeeet. Maybe some lower profile mirrors?

I dunno, i kinda like the crazy 'dumbo' ears after all with those home made bug eyes it's hardly a pretty bike anymore as a side, the bracket i made can be found at the following links (i won't bother trying to embedd them as they'll just abuse your browsers with their size). the amended version (for which these are the plans) are a bolt in job and fit standard bates headlamps - all told the whole rig didn't cost more than £100-140 (with decent cibie headlamps and decent bulbs - cheaper if you went with standard ones) a bit cheaper than most kits! Bracket Page 1 http://lh4.ggpht.com/_gt4f2uCNUjI/SokqPV...sion_Page_2.jpg Bracket Page 2 Bracket Page 3 anyone know where i can get scrambler style 5.75" headlight grilles? Ant

I really like your custom guard and tail light. Any chance of a couple of closer pics of the tail light? Also - where did you get the tail light? Thanks.

Certainly - it's a Victory tail light from a 2004 Victory Vegas. Wired directly in without any problems (it's my understanding that the later years victory parts are not so simple to wire in)

Thanks for the pic and info. Can you explain why the cutaway for the tail light is necessary in the guard? Is it only for wiring access (if so would holes suffice), or is it a mounting issue?

Not sure i follow? Do you mean why did i hack a big hole in it? (i'm having a really slow brain day today). If so it was so the light would fit flush against the rear fender - looking at the fender sideways on it's almost perfectly flat against it with only a small 'bump' aginst the line. The rest of the light sits underneath the fender (holes wouldn't work because that'd defeat it being flush mounted). The Vegas light is the slimmest of the victory lights (in that the amount of light protruding through the fender was the least - i was worried about bits hitting the tyre). rubbish picture attached. hope that helps

Yep, that explains it. Sorry for the confusion - I didn't see a side profile pic and didn't realize it was flush with the guard. Thanks for the illustration.
How close does it come to the tyre under full load?
