There's ALWAYS a reason to make music. Playing music with talented musicians can be a lot like riding a bike. It's a feeling you can't REALLY explain to someone who hasn't done it. They both require you to be completely focused in the moment while letting you 'let go' of everything else.... and when you're done with a really good jam (or a really good ride), you (or at least I) have a 'spent' feeling of euphoric satisfaction that you just can't get anywhere else... Conversely, a BAD ride is like playing with bad musicians... it leaves you asking yourself "why did I even leave the house?".
