Learn something new everyday. I just have a hard time believing the valves are out of adjustment if it was running fine, then it wont start. still sounds like fuel issue of some sort, if it would spit and sputter when starting fluid was used. It to me would seem like it is not getting fuel to the plugs, may be filling the float bowl, but is it actually getting to the cylinder?
