Hmmmm. It appears Triumph is lying then or at least obfuscating a little, unless the pre-purchasers backed out. I just got this in the mail (emphasis mine):
"Only 5 days left to order your brand new Thunderbird! Every bike that has hit the North American coast has been pre-sold; and it looks like this will continue through the end of the Summer!

Well, it appears you are right John. We had another member here that mentioned he canceled his in the 11th hour. They are probably buying the Fury instead.

Maybe the Dealer put a name in to have they on the floor, Knowing they could sale them.

Indeed. My local Triumph dealer had the demo truck (which got rained on) and in addition to the 3 or 4 demo T-birds they had 2 on the showroom floor.
If they're already sold, the owners should know me & my buddy were sitting on your bikes.
Triumph really seems to be pushing the T-bird and I gotta tell you, I didn't see too many people getting excited about them.

I smacked my head last week and got stitches, so some things have been a little foggy. But I know I saw the bikes! Dealer did say a hold up in getting them in is the paperwork, registering and so forth. He also said he is going to buy a Tbird so maybe one of them has his name on unless someone else buys first. Don't know all the details. Don't remember the whole conversation. Do know he said that he and Hermy's sold the most R3's in the east so maybe they have the sale numbers to get the bikes in. He is a ****** of a dealer....meaning great guy.

Just talked to the dealer in Little Rock, they received one at it was pre-sold. He was hoping to get another one in this week.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.
