Sorry, you're right -- that wasn't clear. I would very much like to do what's pictured above, and what I think you just described in the pix above.

So y'all are just moving the existing battery box. Cool. However, looks like you're moving the ignition as well? How's that work?

Also, i know the rear fender doesn't extend all the way down to the swingarm, causing a gap taht would likely throw water from the rear tire straight on to the pods. Does the battery box fix this problem on its own, or are you fabbing up an extension to the fender?

Jaeger, if you look in the pic you'll see I left my ignition in the stock location. The stock battery tray holds the battery and then extends over with a flange on the side to hold the ignition like in the diagram above. I cut that flange off the battery tray so that I could leave the stock ignition configuration, and move the battery bracket. The member "babboon" left his flange on the stock battery tray, so that his key now faces forward. Of course that leaves the little tab on the frame where the ignition used to bolt to. If you go out to your bike and remove the fuse cover and look around a bit, you'll be able to visualize it better. Trust me, I did this to my bike with no instruction, and figured the whole thing out myself without knowing it would even work in the end. I had the bike for 4 months and knew nothing about fixing motorcycles. I just know how to use a saw, a drill, and a ratchet.

Heres another option that member "whotributeband"..(haha)... did, making his own battery tray with a side spot to mount the ignition. Obviously its a bit nicer and harder

About the fender issue. Alot of people are worried about that fender piece, but I can assure you IT IS NOT AN ISSUE. The battery tray hangs down pretty far and catches whatever is thrown up. Which isnt really too much because if you think about the way a tire flings dirt and water, it throws it downward in the position. I have very little dirt/grime on my battery tray, and nothing on my swingarm.
