Finally had a chance to get out and ride. My son and I made a 175 mile loop today which included 4 passes: Kenosa-10.000 ft., Trout Creek-9,350 ft., Hoosier-11,500 ft. and Loveland-12,000 ft.

Lunch in Breckenridge. It was a good day.

I was out at Keystone the first week of May for a Maintenance Conference and got to take a drive through Loveland Pass and down the other side. It was an interesting trip. At that elevation it definitely made it interesting trying to get used to breathing. The first couple days I was there it didn't take much at all to get winded, but as the week went on it began to get easier. It is beautiful country for sure!!

Whoa boy, that's some world class riding you bin doin' there my man! If the powers that be would let me drop below the 49th I would love to do some of THAT ridin' 'cause it kinda reminds me of home. Something about mountains... don't know what it is. This from a guy that was born on the prairies. Go figure!!!

Live to love, love to live.

Nice pics there, Bob!

(and man, I gotta say the more I look at that new blue and white Bonnie SE with those 17incher mags, the more I like it!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Dwight- The Bonnie SE is my son's. It seems lighter and is more flickable than my Speedmaster. After about 100 miles, he complains about the seat.

Great pictures Bob. Not a bad days ride. I've been to all those places when I lived in Glenwood Springs many years ago. But I don't remember Trout pass. Breckenridge would have been a good place to stop for lunch if there were not many Turkeys in town. I used to deliver my Dad's 5 lbs rye bread to the Whale's tail restaraunt and many others, when he owned his bakery. I think it's still there at least it was when I was last there in 2004. Were there a lot of bikers out and were the passes chilly?

Beautiful pictures! I've driven all those passes when I've travelled out in that part of the country. I never ceases to take my breath away to see those mountains.

PES- A ton of bikes were out on Sunday. Jackets and Gloves for us on the passes. There were some tough guys on cruisers with t-shirts. Maybe they left home without coats, after all it was 90 degrees in Denver. Breckenridge was your usual tourist trap.

You are right, it wasn't Trout Creek Pass. Trout Creek is futher south on US 285 right before Buena Vista. Good memory dude. Grew up in Colorado and I've been probably been down US 285 at least a zillion times! It was Red Hill Pass, 10,000 ft.

Pictures look almost as pretty as Montana.

Boy, no kidding. Montana is beautiful and not as crowded as Colorado. I rode Butte/Missoula/Helena area 2 years ago and Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Yellowstone the year before that.
