I have just returned from a Days Rideout travelling around York and the Helmsley area in the North of England. I was asked Twice at different brew stops, if what I was riding was the New Triumph Thunderbird!!
I actually ride a Blue and White EFI America. Looks like loads of Folks are aware of the new T'Bird hitting the streets...BUT very few know about the existence of the America. Kind of nice to ride a rare beast.
As long as my bike doesn't get mistaken for any of those Jap Cruisers I am happy!
Think what you say .....before you say what you think!!! If in doubt...say nowt!!

I'm tellin ya, only the Triumph fans/purists think it doesn't look like a Triumph. To the casual observer the Thunderbird looks like like an America.

just looked at some show pics of said thunderbird. i would say it looks kinda cool. i have absolutely no clue as to how one can confuse it with an america or vise versa.

So the less a person knows about motorcycles, the better a Thunderglide looks?

No, the less they know the more it looks like a motorcycle. They both say Triumph on the side so that's that.

I don't see how anyone can read the Triumph badge on the new Thunderbird w/o reading glasses or a magnifying glass. Could they have made it any smaller?

I'm beginning to think Leno and Ron are biological twins separated at birth and sent to different biker gang foster parents. They share equal disdain for the Thunderbird so maybe they share their roots.
