My opinion is wear one if you arent willing to take the risk of dying. But then again, riding is a risk. You take all the precautions that you want, it is your choice. My choice is none or a half non-DOT helmet, but that is my choice and my risk to accept. There are arguments for both sides, all valid. It is a question of how you want to ride and feel.
