If the battery had enough power to light up the headlight, it had enough power to turn on a relay/solenoid. There is still a gremlin in your system that is staring everyone in the face. For the bike to quit and loose starter/ignition power, I don't think it is CDI related. They have to look at the combination starter/run circuits. Ignition switch, kickstand switch, maybe the kill switch, fuse box connections, etc.
If they changed the battery, I really hope they were right. Too bad they don't give you a loaner and one of their techs drive it for a week.
