Another alternative is to get some "over mittens" to wear over your winter gloves. These keep the wind/rain/snow off of your gloves to start with. Aerostich has 2 kinds, for $47 & $57.

The heavier ones will probably be very bulky, but probably much warmer also. The weather here in Alabama is not very extreme, usually not less than 30 deg F in the daytime in the winter. --Tom
