Ok, I'm now in possession of my third America. I got it from my 'local' dealer (ie not the one at the end of the street... the one 150 miles away!) and rode it the 150 miles or so home. It's the first efi bike I've ridden and so far so good. It's not missed a bit all the way back. And ridden it on the twisty A roads most of the way back.... and only stopped once to take a pic, just outside Stratford, and didn't need to stop till I got home... 3 1/2 hours later. I've got a sissy bar and rack on it... off the 03, till I get the pillion rack and the mods start all over again. I'll post a pic tomorrow. I'm knackered!!!

Congrats Gina!!! It must feel good to be on the road again! I had to look up “knackered†(haven’t heard that one in the US). Let me try my British slang on you, as a British friend taught me….â€I’ve heard the EFI is the ‘dog’s bollocks!’ You must feel great after everything you’ve been through recently, ‘Bob’s your uncle!’† How did I do?

Ok then. Going from the bank to the dealer with enough cash to buy a bike......is scary. I picked up the bike at 5pm... I know the whole running in thing, so was trying to avoid motorways as much as possible. I hit the A50, A38, and did a bit of motorway being the M42 (where the active traffic management said was congested.... but wasn't) and M40. Followed the signs for Stratford, Evesham Cheltenham - which I got lost in - Gloucester - also got lost - and then got on the M5, M4 and M32. 3 1/2 hours later from leaving the olds.... got home. As I didn't leave their's till nearly 8... it was dark when I got here. Anyway, a layby near Stratford.

EFi... The only 865 I've ridden is a carb-ed Thruxton, and it's nearly as springy off the lights as that. Is that the efi...I dunno. But goes quite well... And the fuel light hasn't come on yet!!!

Blue and cream if you please... I can't be doing with all these posh names when he's blue and cream.... And while he is a 'he' (got to press the right buttons to make him work ) the 03 is a she - Florence - and my 125 is Doris. So they are girls. He is yet to have a name, as is the 3HW... other than Ba$tard. However I can't call him that now as he's started to work properly. But both will get names in time.... Knackered.... thought that was understood everywhere. overly tired.

Gina,
I'm sorry you have had to go through this ordeal but I'm glad you're still with the group. Congratulation on a good looking bike! Your comments on the efi will have a great deal of credibility and I look forward to your evaluation! Enjoy your new Triumph!

Congrats on the new TBA Gina. I love my blue and white (I call it Penn State Blue and White after my alma mater). Get a lot of postive comments on a gorgeous bike. Enjoy and glad you got the silver lining after dealing with those dirty rotten scoundrels.

Ok then, it's not quite 2 weeks, but the day before will have to do. I'm not sure I like some of the quirks this bike has. Lots of revs and clutch are needed at low speed, due to the efi or it stalls. that then gets constituted as an aggressive start at the lights... it's lumpy at low speeds to, not like the carbs. However the 'aggressive starts' show how quick it is off at the lights and I've had a power slide in the rain. Then there's holding the clutch in to start it. the loaner suzuki was like that, and it was annoying on that too. And it's been rained on... several times.

The only EFI I ever rode was a T100 demo. It was WAY different! A BUNCH more snot than my TBA but then it is a different bike so I just kinda chocked it up to that. I'm told EFI does give the bike a bunch more attitude off the line and now you're just sort of confirming that.
No worries though Gina... you'll get used to the new fella.

Gina, you have to clutch in for starting even in neutral? Is that a new safety feature?
