Hey guys, I took my faithful America for her last 90 mile ride this morning up to my Kalamazoo dealer. With mixed emotions I left her there and brought home a new T-Bird! The 90 mile ride back home gave me time to feel out this new ride. I must say that the new bike is everything I wanted the America to be and more. Sure, more weight but man there is so much more power that the weight is negligible. The seating position is just like the America with the exception that the footpegs are lower and closer to the rider. At 6’1” I really feel more comfortable on this new bike! It’s more an upright position and you are not rocked back on your tailbone so much. It will be much more comfortable on the long rides that Diane and I plan to make during my retirement. I’ve alsways thought of this site as a Triumph site and with that in mind I will continue to monitor what is happening here as well as spending time at the new T-Bird site. I’ve met many new friends here and see no reason to loose them just because I’ve changed my ride. See you on the road or at a Triumph rally. Big Jack

I understand from my mate Archbald that all the T-birds are primed with a black primer. So their all equily fast, solves the problem of whitch color to buy

You SHOULD BE "running and ducking" there, John!!!

Yep, 'cause you should know that that Shelby "Cobra-esque" blue and white paint job there would NATURALLY make ANY motorcycle faster than just your run-of-the-mill black paint job would!!!

(nice color choice there, Jack!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Hmmmm.... Wonder if Specialty Spares and Windvest will be making bits and pieces for that fine looking steed? For a black one of course.

By the seat of your pants, what is the roll-on power like on the T-bird?

Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Mixed emotions...no kidding. Almost like loosing a family member... Too bad most of us can't afford to keep one of each.

Congrats on the new ride. Looks real good.

Eddy, you have to ride one to understand. You can lug it down to walking speed in 4th gear and it will try to rip itself free of your grip all the way to 90.In 4th at a lazy 55 when you punch the trottle it's the sesation of standing still and excellarateing in 1st.

Beautiful bike, Big Jack. Enjoy!
Let's see, just for starters - a pair of thumpin' 800 cc pistons working side by side - what's not to like about that?
That ride is nothing but class, wherever it goes.

Jack, you need to ride that thing to Ohio and the AMA vintage bike rally!
