For those who appreciate great live music in a pub-like atmosphere, you have to check this guy out. He is making a Northeast swing this month before heading off the Germany, so maybe some of you can catch him near home. It would even be worth a good ride to get to one of his shows!

The New Official Monte Montgomery Website

Check out some of his YouTube clips. It's like Stevie Ray Vaughn, only it's all acoustic. I did not understand that after just listening to some CDs, but the first song I saw him play live, it became immediately obvious. He doesn't need an electric guitar. He doesn't need a drummer or bass player, either, although the first show I saw had both.

I've never seen anybody be that mean to an instrument they loved so much.

Well, not only is that man talented and skilled to the teeth, but he uses tasteful (not showy) licks that fit so expertly within the context of a song that is defies the senses. Truly one of the most gifted guitarists of our time, if not forever. His craft is well honed and his arrangements are stunning. A true, true ARTIST.

Thank you Keith for turning us all onto this great musician. It would be such a loss to not have heard him. If he is ever within riding distance of my town, you can be sure I'll saddle up in an instance to catch his act.

Much appreciated from a fellow musician. I am inspired.

That's odd, I was expecting to see a WWII general.
