Well folks, guess what? We finally shipped the software that has been consuming my life for way more than a year. I have mixed feelings as there were some corners cut to get it out the door
8 months late.
Regardless, the grind is over and I am now back on a normal work schedule! Not working this weekend (two days in a row!) which will actually seem like a vacation. Not working any weekends for the foreseeable future either.
Funny thing, my boss came over and asked us “Are you ready for R2 now? We only have 2 months before ship!†I told him to go F himself, with a smile. He started to laugh until he saw the look in my eyes and walked away muttering. We all think he has a miserable home life and never wants to go home. After meeting his wife, I see why. What a witch! *cough* with a B *couch*
So….. I have much more free time now and will be a lot more active here again. For some that might cause some consternation
The first thing I am going to do with this time is
go on a vacation!! Yep, we had booked a week in Alaska in anticipation and were holding our breaths in case it did not ship. I am very relieved that everything is working out. My sister-in-law and husband live in Sitka so we will be visiting them and seeing the sites. I can’t wait!!
