As a follow-up to Mikey790's post (and with his permission) I have added a link to a post with 4 YouTube videos posted (same content) last night on the Thunderbird site, for those who don't have a Facebook account.

Thanks for the link there, T-Man! I don't have a Facebook account.

BTW...I don't know why its taking so long to download these Youtube videos here????

(oh, and ALSO BTW...I have to admit as I'm watching these videos here that I kind'a miss not hearing some "proper English gentleman" intone some kind of voiceover in these videos, just like those old vintage Triumph factory tour films circa the early 1950s, and which I'm sure you've seen, where said "proper English gentleman" might say somethin' like the following in these new videos...."As you will notice, our workers at Triumph are at the forefront modern motorbike assembly methods. We at Triumph have always prided ourselves upon the idea of superlative and efficient production values!")

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

"great films" !!!?

Man, you don't get out much, do you?

I suspect a video of the kids that build Huffy's for K-Mart would look the same.

Well that is probably as closest to a factory tour as I'm going to get. Very informative. Was that a white Daytona in that fourth video?

Nice videos. Nice bike.

This has given me a good idea for Triumph. They should make a "How it's made" DVD. Film the making of each motorcycle from nut #1 to the finished article. Make a DVD for every model they make and the sell it to anoraks like me. I'd buy a DVD on how a TBA is made. probably a few other models as well.

Anyone else like this idea?

YEAH Mark, that's a VERY cool idea there! I'd probably buy somethin' along those lines alright!

(but of course I'd want all those videos I'd buy to have that voiceover done by that "proper English gentleman" like I was sayin' above!)

Just got Dish HD awhile back and whilst surfing around i stumbled on a program called "Twist the Throttle" that is pretty close to what you're talking about. The shows spotlight different bike factories. So far, i've seen Kawasaki, BMW, Honda, Ducati and others. I keep hoping for a Triumph one. It's interesting nonetheless. The channel is called HD Theater.

I'll have to look out for that. I have Direct TV. I have seen "Ultimate Factories" on the Discovery Channel. They did a great step by step on building a Ferrari and an Apache helicopter, but i have not seen any motorcycle factories.
