I get most of a gallon in there. Upon initial fill theres maybe 12ounces left over (if I dont use it I pour it into an empty water bottle) . I start it, let it run for a bit, shut it down and let it settle for a while. Re-check it again and top off if needed.
I keep mine between the lines. I do this cause after removing the air box I was getting oil out of the breather when it was to the top line. My bikes happy place is probably the lower line but I keep it between the lines.
