I just found this itinerary on the AMA site telling eveything (maybe) that is happening that week. Here's the link .

The Trimph ride is on the 9th and leaves at 6pm from some mall parking lot to St. Augustine. I'll be going.

The best day for the Antique bike show is Wednesday or Thursday. Friday is the last day and it is the Auction, and by then most of the vendors have moved onto other sites around Daytona. So unless you want to bid on a Antique bike I wouldn't go on Friday.

In past years Friday has been British bike day at the Volusia Fair Grounds Swap meet, which means if you have a British/European bike you get in free. It's a morning thing, we crawl out of our tents and ride a 0.5 miles to the swap meet.

Yeah I noticed that, puts a crimp in our plans now doesn't it? Oh I know, I'll go earlier in the week and tell you all about it on Saturday. How's that?

If you want more information on the ABATE Camp Ground check this link out. Just click on the Bike Week Campground at the top of the page. This year they are charging $13.00 per person per day or $80.00 for all 10 days.

Having never riden a Rocket, I hope to try out one of the new Rocket Cruisers. A Boss Hoss ride would be interesting for kicks.

Yep, the Rocket is on my list along with either the Thruxton or Scrambler plus a Sprint ST. I've gone through all of the manufacturers and picked out what I want to try. It'll be a busy week for me.

Ok Phil, wanting to ride one and OWN one are two entirely different things. I might even try a HD - no cameras please!

Well, I got the nod for the weekend (from both bosses! ). My plans right now are to leave here before noon on the 10th, find a place up there and leave late Sunday. If you all want to get together Friday night, let's set a meeting place!

I would like for as many of us as can to get together on Saturday as early as possible. I figure we can get over to the Triumph truck, see the sites, ride the Loop, and definitely eat!! I hope you all want to meet each other, right? How better than doing the above! Keep the 11th free guys!!

Ryan, as our local liason, we need some times and places for events. That's right bro, you are the event coordinator!!

We got time so let's make some plans.....

Okay, the baby is all set to be delivered on the 9th. That should allow me some time to get to lunch on the 10th provided that my Mother in Law shows up for baby duty. Are we doing a Snack Jack's run this year?

I'll be there the 6th through the 9th - sorry I'll miss a chance to actually run into some of the people on this forum. I'm riding with 3 HD friends and hope to see other Triumphs there. I also plan to check out the demo truck. I've always wanted to do the Slim Pickens thing (jump on a rocket), only difference is I plan to get off a little differently. Anyway, I'll try to save a beer or two for you.

Well, I've been given clearance by the KOTW Am planning on doing a day trip on Saturday, but might bring some camping gear and stay over until Sunday night. Hope to see you all there!

Cheers,

Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I've got the time off so I'll be headed down on Wednesday and leaving on Sunday. The ABATE camping area sounds good enough to me so I'm bringing my tent.

I suggest we shoot for either the 9th or 10th at Snack Jacks's around 1pm? I am local, so which date works best for those going?

I spoke with Bob at Palm Beach Triumph, and he suggested we meet up on Friday the 9th if possible. I vote for 1pm.

If we are too all over the place to make this happen in '06, I'll just see y'all around the truck. Also for those coming in earlier than the 9th, my work number is 386-681-4060, and my cell is 386-405-7089. I work across the street from the track and would love to meet up.

Friday is the 10th. I hope that's what you mean and not Thursday the 9th?

Right now, I plan on getting up very early Friday morning (the 10th! ) and beat feeting it up there. I will definitely be in town before noon.

Now here's the best part. Wojo has room for me to stay!!! WooHoo!! Sorry Tom, but hot showers and a bed take the prize here!

Well I'm off in about an hour. Hope to see lots and lots of BA.com members down there. Ryan, Phil, Moe, Newt, start gettin' it warm for me.

Oh and no shinanigans in the classifieds while I'm away. I've marked all of the bottles so don't drink my booze, I'll know if it's watered down and play nice. Right.

Okay, here is the deal. My son was born one week early! That is fantastic on several fronts including my availability for a meeting on the weekend of the 10th and 11th. My cell is 386-405-7089. If anyone wants to shoot for a meeting at Snack Jack's, I say Saturday around 1:00pm. I'll keep it open at least.

Can probably ride some next week as well. Looks like nice weather.

Hey Ryan.. I'll try to be there saturday. There is a local ABATE group that will be riding over saturday as a pack that I might hook up with. Unfortunately, they are planning on meeting at 6:00am at the local waffle house and leaving from there. I can do a lot of things, but not at 6 in the morning!

Cheers,
Brad

High Tides at Snack Jack (the official name) is on A1A just south of Flagler Beach. Here's their map:

Triumph truck pulled up today (3 days into the Rally). NOt sure if they have unloaded everything yet, but they have 3 or 4 new Scramblers, 4 new Sprints, 3 Rocket Classics, and at least one new Triple. Didn't see the new Daytona, but I am sure it was on the truck.

There is someone else (not Triumph) on site selling Triumph merchandise. Go figure. For the life of me, I cannot figure this company out. As usual, the America drew some good attention. I had 3 positive comments within 20 minutes. Some dumba&& gave me the old, "didn't know they were still in business," within shouting distance from the friggin' truck. Geesh.

Give me a call Newt. I tried to call John (Wojo) this afternoon, but he doesn't appear to have voice mail. The Speedway Marketplace was a little sparse other than some sweet $10 sunglasses I picked up in one of the tents. I am betting most of the vendors are parked out at the new Daytona Harley Davidson. We should ride out there after lunch or whatever.

If all goes well at the Doctor for my wife on Thursday afternoon, I am planning on joining Wojo and Ronald for the Triumph Run to St. Augustine. Anyone else interested and monitoring this site meet at the Volusia Mall at 6pm Thursday the 9th. I always say I am going to do this and never do. What the heck?

M.I.L's suite turned out fine. New fiberglass doors with stainless hardware for the front and the rear. Two new joined windows that span a 73 inch hole. New concrete sill. I sure wish I could get some white coat plaster. Plaster of paris is a BEECH to work with. Yes, the apt walls are plastered expanded steel.
You should have seen how bad it looked before.

Good gosh. And the apts have cast iron sewer pipes and stacks.
Thank goodness for ospho, JB Weld, and fiberglass matting

Good to see a tragedy didn't stop some good old fashioned cole slaw wrastlin'!

Stunt rider hurt at cole slaw wresting contest

STAFF REPORT

SAMSULA - A stunt motorcycle rider in a show that featured 30-foot jumps over a cole slaw-wrestling pit was seriously injured today.

James Verschuuren, 21, ran his motorcycle off the side of a ramp and landed on his head while attempting a jump just after noon at Sopotnick's Cabbage Patch, witnesses said.

The freestyle motocross show was a preliminary to the venue's annual Bike Week cole slaw wrestling event.

"This is my rookie guy and this is want he wants to do, and this is what happens to him," said Kenny Yoho, 29, leader of the group from East Coast Xtrem of Tampa.

The injured rider was airlifted to Halifax Medical Center. His condition was not known, but witnesses said he was moving his arms and legs.

Verschuuren broke his leg in a stunt show last year, Yoho said. Because of the danger of their stunts, the crew is unable to buy insurance, he said.

A tip bucket was being passed among those awaiting the start of the women's wresting event to try and help with Verschuuren's medical bills.

Hmmmm, maybe I should stay home, eh?

NOT!!!

In fact, I am beat feeting it out of here tomorrow at 11AM !! WooHoo! I can't take it so I told all the bosses I had to go

I plan on getting there well before everyone takes off on the RAT run so I will meet you guys at the Volusia Mall. I will probably ride around for a bit until 6. Exactly where is everyone meeting at the mall? I know it is across from the Speedway, but that's all....
