The article your link takes us too is a very good explanation......disregarding Bill's elitist comment on same.

The article clearly places a "definitive" degree of blame on the UAW and its greed and presumptive contribution for the destruction of GM.

Over the years the UAW wanted its cake and the ability to eat it too.

Well they ate it into the ground.

Unions are the bain of forward progress in corporate enterprise in the US.

"Strikes are only good for bowlers" as my old high school teacher once said.

He was right about that.

A degree of blame may fall on the UAW, you make it seem like you want the whole thing to be their fault. It couldn't possibly be butt ugly design or flawed mechanical components and the refusal to change with the times to keep ahead of the competition. Blame the working man for trying to get his cut. "... the bane of forward progress in corporate enterprise..." Sounds like typical management level propaganda to me.

No......Roadworthy.....it was THE union contribution to the lack of ability to address all those things.

Greed is and always has been the byword of the UAW. Unions did way more than their fair share to bring about the downfall of GM.

Flexiblility and compromise over the years might have effected a different result.

Demanding funds for laid off workers at 95% salary and resisting closures of no longer needed facilities......

Unions are the death of free enterprise.

Now that the simpletons have weighed in, might as well lock it, because you know where it'll go from here.

Not referring to you Paul or Dave. Or even Larry, yet

Just the main moron.
